Happy Birthday Mom! Kathy’s Surprise Blog Hop Party

Good Morning Everyone! And Mom, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! If you just hopped over here from the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog, you know that today is a VERY special birthday for my mom, Kathy! If you have no clue who Kathy is, she is the creative guru & President of Peachy Keen Stamps {where my sister Adrianne and I just happen to hold a day job – are we lucky or what?}. I’ve secretly organized a Birthday Blog Hop in her honor and there are over 30 lovely ladies who have created something for her as well! So, Mom….are you surprised? ;)

I have not ONE but THREE cards to share with you today. If you’ve ordered from Peachy Keen before, Adrianne, my sister, is the one who likely picked and shipped your order. She normally leaves the crafty stuff up to me and my mom, but she really wanted to make her first card for my mom’s special day.

My mom LOVES Diet Coke, so Adrianne decided to create a card with one of Peachy Keen’s Cottage Cutz (Penguin) Shapes to create a funny scene that my mom will totally appreciate.

Even my 2 1/2 year old, Lucy wanted to get in on the birthday fun! She used stickers {she put them all on herself!} to create Grandma’s birthday card! She loooooooves her Grandma Kathy!

And finally, my card. I wanted to keep it simple and keep the emphasis on the colored image (which is her own – PK-259 Shower Peepers). Simple as it is, I am really happy I was able to incorporate some of her favorite colors while still maintaining a style I’m comfortable with.

MATERIALS USED:
Card Base: Kraft {Recollections}
Pattern Paper: Alphabet Soup {My Mind’s Eye}
Ink: Tuxedo Black {Memento}
Fiber: Pink Sorbet {The Twinery}
Stamps: PK-259 ~ Shower Peepers {Peachy Keen Stamps}
Misc: Copic Markers, White Gelly Roll Pen, Dimensionals

I hope you enjoyed our cards – we are a very lucky BIG family, and Mom, you are an amazing person – we love you!
I won’t keep you all waiting, there are blogs to be seen, and prizes to be won! :)

Your next stop is Viv!
I can’t wait to see what beauty she’s created for this EXTRA SPECIAL SURPRISE HOP!!! :)

If you happen to get lost along the way, don’t worry, each blogger will have this list in their post. Thank you again for hopping along with us!

CAS Market Street with Real Wood Sheets

Hi everyone! Tonight was one of those nights I just felt like I needed the inspiration to relax, and do something that I could complete in less than an hour. I LOVE that stamping and papercrafting has become a therapy of sorts. Way cheaper than a therapist (well, let’s not tally up cost of my supplies for argument’s sake, k?), and more relaxing than a massage (weird factoid, they make me nauseous). So I thought I’d put together just a quick post tonight to show you a card I made for what I thought was a Splitcoast challenge, turns out it needed to follow a sketch! Oh well, I still uploaded into their CAS gallery (clean and simple) because I really liked how it turned out!

It’s been one of those days where everything just seems to go the exact opposite of what you’d hoped. Nothing too terrible, just things that I am forgetting, overlooking, over committing. Part of that is due to lack of sleep which is why I am keeping this post….short, clean, and simple. :) Come back on Thursday for an extra special post you will love! (At least I hope you do, cause I’m really excited about it!!)

MATERIALS USED:
Paper: Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Rustic Cream {Papertrey Ink}, Real Wood Sheet {Creative Imaginations}
Ink: Jumbo Java, Hint of Pesto {VersaMagic}
Stamps: Of the Same Tree {Market Street Stamps} On sale for just $7.50!
Punch: Pinking Hearts Border Punch {Stampin’ Up}

I think this is my shortest supply list EVER, EVER!! ;)
Have a great night everyone! Stay warm! xo Angelica

Snowed in with Sticky Back Canvas!

Hey guys, what a week it has been!! We’ve been so super busy at Peachy Keen Stamps getting our Guest Designers in place for 2011 (yippee!), and I also put out a DT call for Market Street Stamps (YAY!). Since we were snowed in this weekend (I don’t know the final tally on inches fallen, but it was A LOT- plows were pulled off the roads last night!), I decided to do some – ok a lot, of experimenting in my craft room. There are so many things I haven’t even taken out of packages yet because I always say “Oh, that will be fun – when I have time”. This weekend, I had a little bit of time, and the first order of business was trying out some Sticky Back Canvas and some paint that my mom had given me awhile back.

If you have never heard of Sticky Back Canvas, it is actual canvas that already has the “stick” on the back of it. It’s manufactured by Ranger Industries under Claudine Hellmuth’s Studio line. You can do pretty much anything with it that you normally would with canvas. Paint, emboss, rough up, you name it. I decided to try out a few tags with it and here they are. :) I listed supplies for each tag underneath each photo, but if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll make sure to get back to you. ;)

MATERIALS USED:
Tag Base:
Chipboard {The Paper Studio}, Sticky Back Canvas {Claudine Hellmuth Studio by Ranger)

*********************************************************

I *really* want to show you the gifts I’m working on, but I can’t chance the fact that the recipients might see it, so I’ll have to post after our family Christmas party on the 18th. There are going to be so many of us (40+!), and I can’t wait, it’s always my favorite event of the year!!

I also wanted to leave a link to the Market Street Stamps Design Team call if you haven’t already seen it. This is an awesome opportunity to be a part of the very first official team and help us grow in the new year! If you have a passion for stamping and love to share your creations, I hope you’ll consider applying!!

Have a wonderful week everyone, thanks so much for coming by to check out my tags! :)

Erin’s Birthday Soiree :: Guest Design Spot

Yippee!! It’s Erin’s birthday weekend and she asked me if I’d do a guest post for her Birthday Soiree week on her blog. Of course I said yes! It is such a honor to be a guest blogger for her ~ especially on her birthday week! She always posts amazing projects that pop with color, are fun, and sometimes even a little sassy – just like her. ;) Recently, she’s started featuring some straight stamping projects and I couldn’t believe it when she said that she was fairly new to the stampin’ thing. She is a natural!!

For my guest blog project, I decided to create card with the Birthday Girl in mind. Erin has a great eye for color and I always admire the way she chooses the perfect paper for her projects! When I illustrated one of Market Street’s newest sets, Computer Cutie, I knew I could use it to create cards for so many of my bloggy friends who “live in my computer”.  Erin is definitely one of them!

I <3 my friends who live in the COMPUTER

MATERIALS USED:
Cardstock:
Pure Poppy, Kraft {Papertrey Ink}
Pattern Paper: 72 & Sunny {We R Memory Keepers}
Ink: Jumbo Java, Turquoise Gem, Cloud White {Versa Magic by Tsukineko}
Stamps: Computer Cutie, Simply Stitched Borders {Market Street Stamps}
Cricut Cartridge: Sugar and Spice (for image mat – hid contour for the frame in the Gyspy and cut one at 3.25″ and one more at 3″)

*********************************************************

I just love that lil’ computer and in my attempt to create an entire set around it, I ended up just loving the computer and so I released it by itself with a few coordinating sentiments. :) As for the stitching on the panels, that was done with the Simply Stitched borders I designed. They’re perfect when you’re in a hurry and want to give your projects that fun faux stitch look that is so popular. The faux stitching on the image’s mat was done free hand with a white gel pen.

In addition to Guest blogging for Erin today, she’s also giving away one of each of these stamp sets I used!! Be sure to jump over to her blog today if you haven’t already to enter to win!
Also… the computer stamps and a few others are still on sale until tomorrow for 15% off as they were on pre-order but will be available tomorrow. :) Click here to check them out! :)

Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping!! xo Angelica

Advent Calendar Hop Winner & New Stamps!

Hello out there! Thank you guys SO SO much for hopping along with me and the other super amazing ladies in the Advent Calendar Hop last weekend. It was such a fun project and a challenge for me at first, but now, I can add that to the list of things I have tried! LOVE that!! To say the other ladies did an amazing job is an understatement. They all totally inspired me and I can’t thank Ruthie enough for asking me to be a part of it!! I meant to post my giveaway winner yesterday and time completely slipped away {as well as my voice….I’ve been sick since Friday night :( }! I chose my winner by running a random query on my the blog hop post in my database. I know it sounds super geeky, that is just my way. heh. Alright…soooooo the winner of the $20.00 Gift Certificate to MARKET STREET STAMPS is …. TERI!

Your advent calendar is gorgeous! I love the idea and the colors are so sophisticated. Thank you for starting out this great blog hop. Thanks also for the great giveaway. I did go Black Friday shopping with my 2 daughters. It’s our tradition, we do it more to spend time together rather than have a major shopping expedition. The rest of the weekend I am spending online to get what I really want, LOL!

Congratulations Teri! Your certificate will be emailed to you! :)

I have something else SUPER exciting to share! Last night I put up three new stamps that will be released next Monday. For those of you new to my blog – welcome!! Here’s the skinny – I illustrate and design each stamp set for Market Street Stamps {my clear photopolymer stamp line} and give my readers and Facebook followers exclusive sneak peeks and discounts! You can find any of my stamps in the link up at the top of my blog. ;)

I’ll be posting more pre-orders today and tomorrow evening so keep your eyes peeled ’cause you can get these at 15% off until they are released 12/6!! The three stamps below come packaged in a 4.25″ x 5.5″ clear bag with beautiful kraft packaging and would make fabulous stocking stuffers for the stampers in your life or as an early Christmas gift to yourself!
