Hello and a very Happy Friday to you all! If you’ve just come over from the Twinery’s Blog, WELCOME! Today is Day #5 (the final day) in our Little Yellow Bicycle & The Twinery inspiration week! I’m sure you’ve already seen what my other Twinery team members have whipped up this week using the fabulous Little Yellow Bicycle “Hello Fall” line, and our favorite baker’s twine in the whole wide world! If you haven’t seen the other designer’s art, be sure to pop on over and check them out so you don’t miss a single opportunity to win one of the awesome prizes being given away from both companies!
I SO loved going through all the beautiful coordinating items in this line. The warm browns and red-oranges paired with the blues and greens shouted “Pumpkin Patch” and fall leaves to me, so that’s exactly what I chose to chronicle. I also wanted to create a couple of cards to showcase both a simple style and one with a little more going on – both are SUPER easy to create with ALL of the matching elements available from Little Yellow Bicycle and the always versatile eco-luxe twine from The Twinery.
For my “Thank You” card, I first adhered the tree from the “Hello Fall” Chipboard shapes and then some letters from the “Family Tree” page kit.
I used Mandarin twine from the Twinery to outline my tree. To create shapes with your twine, I suggest using Ranger’s Glossy Accents as they dry very quickly and don’t allow the twine to move once you’ve laid it where you want it to be. To finish off the card, I used my white gel pen to create the “you” part of the sentiment and to do some white faux stitching. Super simple!
For my “Hello, Fall!” card, I opted to use a sketch from the Mojo Monday archives. I altered it just a bit so I could fit in these cute medallion cardstock die cuts from LYB. I *love* that crepe paper ribbon up at the top, too! SO versatile!!
I created the center element and finished the top of the card off with some Cappuccino twine. (A TOTAL Fall staple!)
This chipboard album has such a wonderful, wide shape to it and I LOVE that LYB also has a coordinating paper pad for it so adhering the paper pieces was a BREEZE. I simply Mod-Podged the album page and smoothed a sheet of my “Hello, Fall” patterned paper right over. PERFECT. simple. This album comes with a clear acrylic cover which is a REALLY fun way to add some dimension to the front of your album without adding more bulk to the inside. The photo above shows each layout as if you were flipping through the book. I’ve posted details on each page below:
The front of my book showcases some of my favorite elements used for this project – Little Yellow Bicycle clear shapes, canvas “fabric favorites” (owl) and twine to pull it all together . I really wanted to dedicate this book to showcasing a perfect Autumn day we spent earlier this month at the pumpkin patch. We headed to the park after picking our pumpkins which made a long, but very fulfilling day! I was inspired by the gratitude theme in the “Hello, Fall” line. My kids are the ones I am most grateful for. When you’re young, you’re told to trust your parents, as they’ll teach you and guide you to live a fulfilling life. They’ve got it all wrong. You will grow to think you know it all (or most of it, at least) and your kids teach you the rest!! I know I’ve gained more knowledge in 3 short little years than I have at any other point in my life. So gratitude – definitely, always, my girls!
Marlee is my youngest daughter (she’s 2), and I love her sweet smile. These “Fresh Cut Die Cuts” were absolutely perfect to use in my title for this page. I added in some “Peapod” twine for a linear element in the middle. Don’t you love that bright chipboard flower? I couldn’t help but add in some of the “Hello, Fall” jewels to the flower as well.
The paper flowers were a BREEZE to create! I used the “Hello, Fall” Paper flower kit that comes with everything you need to make LOTS of flowers in varying sizes and shapes. I also threaded through some Mandarin twine to accent the canvas button, also from the “Hello Fall” line. Isn’t that frame great? That was included in the Chipboard Shapes kit! Lucy (3) was such a happy camper at the pumpkin patch – I loved that she chose to put her head through this fun little cut out. She even got Grandma Kathy and Marlee (AND Daddy) to put their heads through too!! (Pictured below)
Here is a close up of the flowers.
Stop and smell the …. mums? Marlee was delighted to find the greenhouse at the pumpkin patch! I wanted to represent the sweetness of her going around smelling all the flowers so I used the clear shapes which had a swirl that was perfect to reflect her face in this picture. The felt flowers are the BEST! I used all of the flowers that came in the felt flower kit on this album. They were just too cute! The bottom of the page also features a canvas border – they are gorgeous and perfect for these wide albums!
I loved working with the broad range of different elements that are a part of this line from LYB. This “10 things I Love” pocket is a cute little add-on that I enjoyed journaling on. I wrote 10 things I loved about both my girls.
Here’s a close up of Lucy’s page along with one of those sweet felt flowers. LOVE them!!
The “Count Your Blessings” elements were also great to create a quick double layout.
I hope you enjoyed today’s projects and are leaving inspired and ready to create!
Be sure to leave your comment here so you have a chance to win some amazingly awesome prizes from both the Twinery and Little Yellow Bicycle!
