Market Street Stamps/The Twinery Blog Hop

Good Morning Friends! I hope you are all having a fabulous morning and a great start to your weekend!
Today is the 2nd Day in the Market St/Twinery Blog Hop and I couldn’t be more thrilled looking at all the fabulous creations!
If you’re coming here from the Market Street Stamps’ Blog, you’re right on track.
If not, go ahead and start the hop at The Twinery blog!
There is TONS of inspiration along this two-day hop- and there are also two chances to win!

Here’s what you can win!

OR
Make sure you visit each blogeach day and leave a comment on each post to be eligible to win a prize!
You have through Friday, November 25th to comment! The randomly drawn winners will be posted on both The Twinery blog and here on the Market Street Stamps blog on Saturday, November 26th!
For my project today, I have to admit, it was one of those weeks where as much as you try, you just can’t get your mojo going and with things going on in every aspect of life right now, I figured it was best to keep it simple. ;) People always tell me they love our background stamps for that reason – the simplicity of stamping the background and layering makes card-making so easy! Stampers who are just starting and seasoned, expert stampers all say the same thing!
I used our Punched Tin background and the sentiment is Comforting Florals. The twine is my favorite neutral – Cappuccino! Sorry for the dark photo, have I mentioned how much I dislike it getting dark so soon? ;)
Your next stop on the hop is the sweet and SO talented Michele Gross!! Have fun hoppin’ and good luck!

Swimming for Katie

Good Morning Everyone, and thank you SO much for stopping by today! If you’ve just come from Angela Thomas‘ blog, you’re in the right spot. If not, please visit i {heart} paper’s static page with all the blogs in the hop. Today we are hopping for a very special person in our crafting community, Katie Renz. You can read a bit more about Katie and her family below. When Kate from i {heart} papers approached me to help her manufacture this charitable stamp in a short time frame, of course I was so happy to help! I worked with Peachy Keen Stamps’ manufacturing (they also manufacture Market Street Stamps) to get these stamps out to all of the amazing designers who have teamed up to bring you beautiful inspiration and awareness to the fund that has been set up for Katie and her family. When you make a donation to purchase this stamp, you are going to receive a high-quality clear, peach-tinted stamp that will last through hundreds of impressions.

“Simple Elegance” was the look I was going for. This sweet octopus stamp designed by Becky Oehlers reminded me of just that. I love the bits of glitter and bling and the blue-green in the paper. I love, love, love this adorable image.

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer. If you’re not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Her first post about it is here. The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post here.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a dig and SVG cut file. 100% of the profits go to Katie’s fund to help her and her young family. Her husband Kevin and her three young children need our help and support. In addition to the Keep Swimming Octopus, Marianne Walker and True =D Doodle Designs both also donated digis that are for sale. Direct donations are also being accepted. Information central is HERE. This is a permanent page that will stay active at i {heart} papers with current information and the full 3 day blog hop listing, as well as the donation button.

Here are all the items available for sale.

Sizzix Fresh Vintage Blog Hop

Hi Everyone and welcome to The Sizzix Fresh Vintage by Eileen Hull Blog Hop! I am SUPER excited to show you an easy project using the 3D Fringed Flower Die and my go-to neutral twine, Cappuccino from The Twinery!!

First, I want to say how excited I am to be a part of this HUGE hop with so many talented people! Can you believe there are 60 designers participating?! I know, it seems like a lot, but it’s all broken down quite nicely. Here’s how it’s set up:

  • Each week, for 6 weeks, there will be new projects featured in the hop. You don’t need to worry about finding a long link list or a specific post, because that fun little button on my right side bar? It will automatically take you to the most recent projects.
  • Did you miss a day or miss a week? Don’t worry, just visit the “FAQ” section at the bottom of this post for more info!
So, ready to see what I created? Let’s go!

Using some chocolate brown and turquoise felt, I ran my die through in my Big Shot Pro.

Super easy, clean cuts.

To create my card, I simply used Fabri-Tac – that’s right – NO sewing -

to glue my flower elements together.

I whipped some twine through a cream button and adhered it with more Fabri-Tac.

I’m surprised I still have all my brain cells after all that glue sniffing!

I polished it up a bit with some shiny silver iRock gems and threaded some Cappuccino twine for a border.

If you are looking for just one neutral twine color, I highly recommend this color from the Twinery.

It seriously matches ANYTHING I can’t match with another color! The sentiment is one of my sentiment designs that was included in the “Chillaxin” set from Market Street Stamps!

Oh wait…what’s this I see? A hidden gem! It’s a pin!

How fun would it be to receive a card that doubles as the gift?

I’m not talking gift cards, folks, this is a brooch you can wear right after you receive the card.

Simply use a bit of hot glue to adhere your pin back to your felt flower and attach

through the front of your card.

I really want to whip up a dozen more of these for an inexpensive little holiday gift.

I think my jean jacket I use in the Fall will appreciate this little accessory very much. ;)

Here’s everything ELSE you need to know about this awesome, awesome hop and the SUPER talented designers who will also be showcasing their projects:

FAQ about the Fresh Vintage Blog Hop:

How do I hop around to see ideas using the current featured die?

Every Tuesday and Thursday between September 27-November 3, 2011 there will be a
new Sizzix Fresh Vintage die featured on 6-10 participating designers’ blogs.
The navigation buttons for “Hop Back” and “Hop Forward” will allow you to easily
hop around and see projects featuring whatever the current die is, since those
buttons are programmed to navigate only to the blogs that are participating for
that die. On the next Tuesday/Thursday, the buttons will automatically reprogram
themselves to navigate to the blogs that are signed up for the next featured
die.

What if I start at a designer’s blog that isn’t one of the 6-10 signed up for
that die?

No problem! Simply hit either the “Hop Forward” or “Hop Back” button on the
Fresh Vintage navigation widget from any blog’s sidebar and you’ll automatically
advance to one of the participating blogs.

Can I go back and view the ideas for a previously featured die?

Of course! Go to Eileen Hull’s blog and find the Fresh Vintage Permalinks button
on her “Blog Hops” page. It will bring up her blog posts where you’ll find
direct links to each participating blog along with a thumbnail image of the
project.

Where can I buy the Sizzix Fresh Vintage dies, by Eileen Hull?

You can visit Sizzix.com to find a local and online retailers for Sizzix
products. Also be sure to visit Oh My Crafts, (http://ohmycrafts.blogspot.com/)
one of this blog hop’s sponsors, (between the dates of September 27-November 12,
2011) and enter for a chance to win a Flower Layers #9 die!

The Blog Hop has ended and the navigation widget is no longer in the sidebar.
How can I see the ideas?

Go to Eileen Hull’s blog and find the “Blog Hops” page. It will bring up her
blog posts where you’ll find direct links to each participating blog along with
a thumbnail image of the project.

For today’s hop, I opted to go a little out of the ordinary and create a clean and simple Halloween card showcasing the GORGEOUS color combos you can create just by using your Twinery baker’s twine!

How perfect are those colors for Halloween?! I used Lilac, Honeydew, Mandarin and Charcoal. I finished it off with a mini pom-pom I created using Honeydew and Charcoal and some yummy Amy Tangerine Thickers for the word BOO!

And guess what? The Twinery has so generously donated an ULTIMATE COLOR SAMPLER PACK for each of their designers to give away! LOVE sharing the twiney love with everyone!

If you’d like to enter to win this fabulous giveaway, just leave a comment on this post letting me know what colors you’ll be using in your fall crafts.

Thursday, Sept 22nd ~ FULL HOP LIST Day 2

Peachy Keen Stamps September Release Hop

Good Morning Everyone! I am SOOOOO excited to share the new Peachy Keen Stamps’ September Release with you!! If you just hopped from sweet Viv’s Blog, then you are on your last stop and you made it through the hop! If not, please check back at the Peachy Keen Stamps’ Blog to make sure you don’t miss a stop – we’re giving away another new set for each comment left across the entire hop!

In case you didn’t know, my mom, Kathy is the owner, head honcho, creative genius over at PKS. I think it’s safe to say Fall is our family’s favorite season, and for this release, she really pulled out all the stops! There are SO many fun Fall images to color, paper piece and mix and match. And for those of you who looooooove die cutting, she released two new face collections, too!! Make sure you pop over to the Peachy Keen Stamps website to see all the new cuties!

For my hop project, I wanted to make something “from the dog” with the sweet Happy-Go-Lucky Dog Faces in this release. My aunt is currently undergoing medical treatment, and we’ve been watching her dog, Carter for the past week or so. He’s going home to her on Sunday, and I wanted to include something sweet “from him” that would cheer her up.

Isn’t that face just adorable?! Carter has shepherd-style coloring, so he is brown with patches of black. I tried to convey that with inks and Prisma pencils, but once I took the photo he kind of just looked dirty! LOL! Either way, I think he came out super cute, and I know she’ll get a kick out of the card from him.

These puppy faces come in two sets (an assortment pack, which is what I used for this lil’ guy and a larger 6-face set -not pictured). They can be used on SO many different cuts, you really don’t have to use the same ones I did. Use punches, shapes from various SVG’s, the sky’s the limit! For this project, I used the largest size in the face assortment to fit my 3″ pup. I hand wrote a note on the inside that says “It’s been ‘Ruff’ without you around!”. :)

MATERIALS USED:
Cardstock: Kraft, Smokey Shadow {Papertrey Ink}
Cricut Cartridge: Paper Dolls for Everyday (both dog and dog house were cut from this cart. I created the shaped card and hid the contours for the dog’s face on the Gypsy.)
Fiber: Stone Baker’s Twine {The Twinery}
Stamps: Happy-Go-Lucky Dog Face Assortment {Peachy Keen Stamps}
Misc: Buttons {Cosmo Cricket}, Glossy Accents, Prismacolor Pencils, Odorless Mineral Spirits, White Gelly Roll Pen, Pink Chalk (cheeks)
You’re now at the end of the HOP, so your next stop is to head over to the Peachy Keen Stamps Facebook page and let us know what set you loved the most! Just for fun!
I hope you had a fabulous time, I know we SO enjoyed creating these!
And *just* in case you wanted to hop through again or if you came to this post first, the entire hop order is listed for you below:
