Fall Mash Up Blog Hop featuring Peachy Keen Stamps and SVG Attic

Good morning Hoppers!! Are you just joining us? If so, WELCOME to the Fall Mash Up Blog Hop featuring Peachy Keen Stamps and SVG Attic. If you’ve just arrived here from JESSICA’S blog then you’re hopping on the right on track! Not sure where to start? Head on over to Peachy Keen Stamps’ Blog and catch up on anyone you’ve missed there!

We are showcasing how perfectly Peachy Keen’s whimsical faces and SVG Attic’s adorable SVG cuts pair together.

I used the sweet witch out of the “Spooky Friends” collection over at SVG Attic. I LOVE the variety of costumes in here! Then, I used the pumpkin pile from the “Pumpkin Patch” collection. The limited amount of pieces per shape made this SUPER SUPER simple! I used some Glitz cardstock (glitter cardstock that doesn’t flake!! honest!) in the lime green and black colors to bling up my witchy. For the body and the rest of the cuts, I just used some heavy solid colors that I had in my stash.

For the witch’s face, I used one of Peachy Keen’s newer face collections – “In Stitches”. Isn’t she adorable (if I do say so myself)?  For the pumpkins, I used the “Jack-o-Lantern” faces (one of my fave collections, by the way), and stamped a sentiment from our new “Sweet Spooks” set from Market Street Stamps.

To create shading, I used both “Wild Honey” and “Black Soot” Distress Inks and a foam applicator. I used a white gel pen to highlight areas throughout the card, as well as some faux stitching on the sentiment panel.

Not sure who Peachy Keen Stamps and SVG Attic are? Read a bit about them and the giveaways they’re having below!

Peachy Keen Stamps/Quick Quotes Blog Hop

Hello & Happy Friday to you all!! If you’ve just come over from the Peachy Keen Stamps blog, then you’ve made it to the first stop on the hop for Day 1! YAY! We are SO thrilled to have you hoppin’ along with us. This is going to be a fabulous 2 day hop that features designs from the Peachy Keen and Quick Quotes Design Teams.

To showcase the beautiful papers from Quick Quotes, I decided to make two cards using very different color schemes, but the same stamp. Fun, right?

For this first card, I used the very vintagey, elegant  French Quarter line. I thought it looked gorgeous done very simple. I used a Martha Stewart border/corner punch (eyelet) to frame the second layer. I colored “Lauri” from “Lauri Loves Skip Faceless Elves” in a range of yellow-green and deep red Copics. I just love these traditional colors for Christmas.

For my next card, using the same sweet Lauri elf, I used the Live Out Loud line by Quick Quotes. This is probably one of my favorite collections ever! The  matching dimensional accents available made this card easy peasy to create! I usually sit and search for the perfect embellishments, but I have to tell you, I put this card together in about 10 minutes (not including the coloring, of course..hehe). Of course, as much as I love Christmas in traditional colors, this happy-go-lucky elf looks fresh and modern in these very non-traditional colors of Orange, Turquoise and Green. All of the dimensional accents are from the Live Out Loud line as well.

So I’m dying to know – which one do you like best? Do you like the vintage look or the more whimsical fun look? Leave me a comment letting me know and you’ll be entered to win one of the TWO big prizes being given away by QQ and PKS! Check out the goodies we’re giving away:

Peachy Keen Stamps PRIZE:

Basic Paper Doll Face Assortment

Faceless Fruit Stamp Set

Quick Quotes PRIZE:

Family Canvas Kit (All inclusive)

Glitter Chipboard (2 sets – I used the “Live Out Loud” set for my whimsy card!!)

PVC Frosted Embellishments (flowers – I used these on my whimsy card, too!!)

So much to see, I better send you off on your way to Quick Quotes’ Social Media Coordinator, Lisa! Go on and see what fabulousness she has for you! Enjoy the hop, good luck, and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Peachy Keen Stamps September Release Hop

Good Morning Everyone! I am SOOOOO excited to share the new Peachy Keen Stamps’ September Release with you!! If you just hopped from sweet Viv’s Blog, then you are on your last stop and you made it through the hop! If not, please check back at the Peachy Keen Stamps’ Blog to make sure you don’t miss a stop – we’re giving away another new set for each comment left across the entire hop!

In case you didn’t know, my mom, Kathy is the owner, head honcho, creative genius over at PKS. I think it’s safe to say Fall is our family’s favorite season, and for this release, she really pulled out all the stops! There are SO many fun Fall images to color, paper piece and mix and match. And for those of you who looooooove die cutting, she released two new face collections, too!! Make sure you pop over to the Peachy Keen Stamps website to see all the new cuties!

For my hop project, I wanted to make something “from the dog” with the sweet Happy-Go-Lucky Dog Faces in this release. My aunt is currently undergoing medical treatment, and we’ve been watching her dog, Carter for the past week or so. He’s going home to her on Sunday, and I wanted to include something sweet “from him” that would cheer her up.

Isn’t that face just adorable?! Carter has shepherd-style coloring, so he is brown with patches of black. I tried to convey that with inks and Prisma pencils, but once I took the photo he kind of just looked dirty! LOL! Either way, I think he came out super cute, and I know she’ll get a kick out of the card from him.

These puppy faces come in two sets (an assortment pack,which is what I used for this lil’ guy and a larger 6-face set -not pictured). They can be used on SO many different cuts, you really don’t have to use the same ones I did. Use punches, shapes from various SVG’s, the sky’s the limit! For this project, I used the largest size in the face assortment to fit my 3″ pup. I hand wrote a note on the inside that says “It’s been ‘Ruff’ without you around!”. :)

MATERIALS USED:
Cardstock: Kraft, Smokey Shadow {Papertrey Ink}
Cricut Cartridge: Paper Dolls for Everyday (both dog and dog house were cut from this cart. I created the shaped card and hid the contours for the dog’s face on the Gypsy.)
Fiber: Stone Baker’s Twine {The Twinery}
Stamps: Happy-Go-Lucky Dog Face Assortment {Peachy Keen Stamps}
Misc: Buttons {Cosmo Cricket}, Glossy Accents, Prismacolor Pencils, Odorless Mineral Spirits, White Gelly Roll Pen, Pink Chalk (cheeks)
You’re now at the end of the HOP, so your next stop is to head over to the Peachy Keen Stamps Facebook page and let us know what set you loved the most! Just for fun!
I hope you had a fabulous time, I know we SO enjoyed creating these!
And *just* in case you wanted to hop through again or if you came to this post first, the entire hop order is listed for you below:

I Love My Teacher Blog Hop

Good Morning everyone! This is the first of two posts I have for today – so thanks in advance for bearing with me. :) Today is all about celebrating our teachers and making gifts that show our appreciation for them. If you’ve just come from Alina’s blog, you are in the right place. If not, please start back at Abby’s blog so you don’t miss a stop or miss seeing what the giveaways are!

For this hop, I had so many ideas, but since my oldest daughter is just going into preschool and we don’t have the name of her teacher yet, it was a little difficult to make something very personalized. Instead, I opted to alter a Moleskin notebook (my favorite notebooks!) with a teacher theme. EDIT: Those horribly-lit photos were bothering me! I took some better ones this morning and they’re displayed below instead. :)

To create this notebook, I stamped the Woodgrain background from Market Street Stamps first. I then used the apple from the Faceless Fruits set from Peachy Keen Stamps. I used the Boy Mates faces to stamp inside of my apple. I just love those!

I used 7Gypsies washi tape and folded it to create a ruffle look at the top. I then ran the journal through my sewing machine. I added a cream button at the top as an embellishment. The sentiment was printed off my ink jet printer and I used one of my favorite EK Success border punches to tie into the whole school theme.

I faux stitched a little on the card using my White Gelly Roll pen and inked the edges of my apple for a bit of dimension.

What teacher wouldn’t love an altered notebook? This particular one from Moleskin is wonderful because it comes as an uncoated kraft/chipboard material making it really versatile for whatever you’re creating. EDIT: The Moleskin notebook was sold in a pack of three at Barnes and Noble.

Don’t forget – if you leave a comment across all blogs, you’ll be entered to win one of the amazing giveaways Abby has lined up for this hop, including paper from my pal Erin {Erin Lee Creative}, Stamps from Scrappy Moms, PSA Essentials, Mr. Cricut Crazy, and lots lots more!

It’s time to hop on over to Ashley’s blog to see what she’s created for you! Here is the full list in case you get lost! Thanks for stopping by!

Market Street Winner + a Birthday Card

Good Morning everyone! Thank you so much for visiting me over at the Twinery blog and on Facebook! You guys are all awesome! I’m headed out the door to CHA for the day with my hubby, but I wanted to announce the winner before I left. Random.org chose……..

Marissa Flores!

Congratulations, Marissa! I will be contacting you later today for your address and stamp selection! :)

I also wanted to share a card with you guys today that I created for my friend Jayme’s birthday. I think she already received it so hopefully I’m not spoiling the surprise! I used the sketch from this week’s Peachy Keen Stamps sketch Challenge.

I paper pieced this cute watermelon from the Faceless Fruits set (face set used was Princess faces, sold separately). I used yummy Jillibean Soup papers as well as October Afternoon. Don’t you just love the gingham print?

I shaded around the watermelon a bit with some chalk inks and created my sentiment with a Unity stamp and October Afternoon stickers.

Hope you like it! We’d love for you to play along in the PK sketch challenge too! You can use any stamps of your choosing!

Be sure to check in on my Facebook page today -I’ll be sharing updates from the show floor! Have a wonderful day! xo Angelica
