Hello Crafty friends! Welcome to this stop on the “Celebrations of the Heart” Blog Hop! If you found your way over from Crazy About Cricut, then you’re on the right track and hopping along just fine. If not, please jump on over to Alina’s blog so you don’t miss a single stop! Big thanks to Alina for asking me to be a part of this – it could not have come at a more appropriate time.
We were asked to create a project to celebrate an event for a loved one. It could be a birthday, anniversary, or the day you met your best friend. How sweet is that?
Last month {just a few short weeks ago}, we celebrated my Grandfather’s 80th Birthday. He was healthy, active, drove, went to church each Sunday, and worked in his garage every day. Not bad for 80, huh?
Well, silly me. I forgot his birthday card at home that day, and never managed to get it to him before his untimely death less than two weeks after this photo was taken. You can read more about my Grandpa and the impact he had on me here on my personal blog, Typical Aquarian.
I made this at a weekend crop the weekend before his birthday and told my friend DoBea, “This is so juvenile for my grandpa’s birthday. Do you think he’ll like it?” And DoBea told me what I knew was true, “He’ll love it because you made it.” And I know that he would have. He was so very proud of everything I did.
MATERIALS USED:
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up, Copic Xpress Blender Card, Manilla Tag Stock
Pattern Paper: ? Not sure – from DoBea’s stash!
Stamps: Duck Dolls {Peachy Keen Stamps}, Celebrate Cake {Market Street Stamps}
Ink: Tuxedo Black {Memento}
Misc: Copic Markers
Here is a close up of the ducky. This is one of my all-time favorite stamp sets from Peachy Keen! I’m THRILLED to let you know they are finally made into thin metal dies as well! Take a peek here! They are SO easy to use and even more beautiful once pieced together. Use the thin metal dies in your Cuttlebug, and virtually any other manual die-cutter out there!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Alina will be giving away some Market Street Stamps via her blog, but I will also offer two little giveaways here.
Just head on over and “like” Market Street Stamps’ Facebook page & “like” Peachy Keen Stamps’ Facebook page to be entered to win an “Enjoy Today” stamp set from Market Street Stamps & a “Duck Doll” stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps! Be sure to leave a comment here letting me know you’ve done both!

Now it’s time to hop on over to your next stop – the talented Mary! If you happen to get lost along the way, here is a complete line up for you! Happy Hopping and good luck, everyone! :)
