Peachy Keen Stamps/Quick Quotes Blog Hop

Hello & Happy Friday to you all!! If you’ve just come over from the Peachy Keen Stamps blog, then you’ve made it to the first stop on the hop for Day 1! YAY! We are SO thrilled to have you hoppin’ along with us. This is going to be a fabulous 2 day hop that features designs from the Peachy Keen and Quick Quotes Design Teams.

To showcase the beautiful papers from Quick Quotes, I decided to make two cards using very different color schemes, but the same stamp. Fun, right?

For this first card, I used the very vintagey, elegant  French Quarter line. I thought it looked gorgeous done very simple. I used a Martha Stewart border/corner punch (eyelet) to frame the second layer. I colored “Lauri” from “Lauri Loves Skip Faceless Elves” in a range of yellow-green and deep red Copics. I just love these traditional colors for Christmas.

For my next card, using the same sweet Lauri elf, I used the Live Out Loud line by Quick Quotes. This is probably one of my favorite collections ever! The  matching dimensional accents available made this card easy peasy to create! I usually sit and search for the perfect embellishments, but I have to tell you, I put this card together in about 10 minutes (not including the coloring, of course..hehe). Of course, as much as I love Christmas in traditional colors, this happy-go-lucky elf looks fresh and modern in these very non-traditional colors of Orange, Turquoise and Green. All of the dimensional accents are from the Live Out Loud line as well.

So I’m dying to know – which one do you like best? Do you like the vintage look or the more whimsical fun look? Leave me a comment letting me know and you’ll be entered to win one of the TWO big prizes being given away by QQ and PKS! Check out the goodies we’re giving away:

Peachy Keen Stamps PRIZE:

Basic Paper Doll Face Assortment

Faceless Fruit Stamp Set

Quick Quotes PRIZE:

Family Canvas Kit (All inclusive)

Glitter Chipboard (2 sets – I used the “Live Out Loud” set for my whimsy card!!)

So much to see, I better send you off on your way to Quick Quotes’ Social Media Coordinator, Lisa! Go on and see what fabulousness she has for you! Enjoy the hop, good luck, and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Snowed in with Sticky Back Canvas!

Hey guys, what a week it has been!! We’ve been so super busy at Peachy Keen Stamps getting our Guest Designers in place for 2011 (yippee!), and I also put out a DT call for Market Street Stamps (YAY!). Since we were snowed in this weekend (I don’t know the final tally on inches fallen, but it was A LOT- plows were pulled off the roads last night!), I decided to do some – ok a lot, of experimenting in my craft room. There are so many things I haven’t even taken out of packages yet because I always say “Oh, that will be fun – when I have time”. This weekend, I had a little bit of time, and the first order of business was trying out some Sticky Back Canvas and some paint that my mom had given me awhile back.

If you have never heard of Sticky Back Canvas, it is actual canvas that already has the “stick” on the back of it. It’s manufactured by Ranger Industries under Claudine Hellmuth’s Studio line. You can do pretty much anything with it that you normally would with canvas. Paint, emboss, rough up, you name it. I decided to try out a few tags with it and here they are. :) I listed supplies for each tag underneath each photo, but if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll make sure to get back to you. ;)

*********************************************************

I *really* want to show you the gifts I’m working on, but I can’t chance the fact that the recipients might see it, so I’ll have to post after our family Christmas party on the 18th. There are going to be so many of us (40+!), and I can’t wait, it’s always my favorite event of the year!!

I also wanted to leave a link to the Market Street Stamps Design Team call if you haven’t already seen it. This is an awesome opportunity to be a part of the very first official team and help us grow in the new year! If you have a passion for stamping and love to share your creations, I hope you’ll consider applying!!

Have a wonderful week everyone, thanks so much for coming by to check out my tags! :)

DT Announcement and Market Street Tags

Oh my goodness, as I am typing this, my eyes are heavy, I have an itch on my back that I can’t reach to scratch and I’m listening to the same album I’ve had on repeat all night. I love the album {it’s Casa by Natalia y la Forquetina, in case you were wondering} but I probably should change it soon before I go outta my mind.

Speaking of outta my mind – I was outta my mind EXCITED when I was chosen as a designer for The Twinery’s new design team!! If you’ve been following me for a little while, you’ve seen their twine show up in my posts. It’s a completely yummy line of twine consisting of 8 different delicious colors that literally match anything I’m doing. I’m not exaggerating. I pulled out three very different paper collections for my tag projects I’m going to show you and I had a color (or two) of twine to match each one. That’s what I call a match made in heaven. (Oh man, you know I’m tired, I’m breaking out the puns. hehe) Our first DT projects won’t be posted until mid-December, but in the meantime, check out their website or their blog for TONS of inspiration, and check here, too. I’ll try to show you some of the useful and creative ways I’ve been using it in my craft room!

For those of you who are new to my blog – welcome!!! I’m the social media and blog coordinator for Peachy Keen Stamps as well as Illustrator and Co-Founder of Market Street Stamps. Tonight I’m going to show you three different tags I created using the same stamp {Market Street Stamps} that will be released Thanksgiving weekend. One stamp – three tags – three different ways! And do you want to know the best part? This stamp will be FREE during Thanksgiving weekend {until supplies last} with ANY purchase {no minimum}. Pre-orders are also qualifying purchases. {Yep, I’ll have new stuff up next week for pre-order!} You won’t need to do anything to receive the free stamp. If you place your order between 11/25-11/28 we’ll automatically package it up with your order. :)

Alrighty, now onto the tags!! {Click each image to see larger}

31 pictures in 31 days: Day 4

Wow, 4 days in a row. I amaze myself. Heh. Anyway, here are my penguin homeboys that are outside of my house. I love them, and though we can’t compete with the neighborhood Griswalds across the street, they always bring a smile to my face.

31 pictures in 31 days: Day 2

Day 2 of the December photo challenge and I am still working on this blog! Hopefully soon it will beautiful! I am having trouble adding the badge for the December photo link on my side bar, I think it may have something to do with the theme I am using. I could see it on my phone but not on Firefox or Safari? Weird.

Anyway, we still don’t have all our Christmas decorations up, but Jorge did get the lights strung on the tree, and there is something magical about lighting up a Christmas tree, isn’t there? {Sigh} I just LOVE this time of year! We even got a sprinkling of snow today. Lucy was most excited.
