Alright Peachy Keen peeps, you are officially at the end of the hop! So, if you just came from Lisa’s blog, then you’ve come from the right place. If not, be sure to start back at the Peachy Keen Stamps blog to see what everyone has created for this SUPER fun release! I hope you had a ton of fun checking out everyone’s projects!
So, before I show you my project, I have a little, teensy weensy confession to make. I consider myself Cricut-Challenged. But, inspired by all the incredible bloggers out there showcasing their Peachy projects, I decided to challenge myself to get over my fear of my Cricut, and just give it a go! I usually only use the Cricut for small things like numbers, small shapes, and things like that. This time, I couldn’t wait to use the adorable Twinkle Toes cartridge and the new Wide-Eyed faces!
MATERIALS USED:
Cardstock: Pure Poppy, True Black {Papertrey Ink}, White, Peach {From Stash}
Ink: Tuxedo Black {Memento}
Stamps: Wide-Eyed Kids, Valentine’s Sweets {Peachy Keen Stamps}
Embellishment: Be My Valentine {We R Memory Keepers – trimmed out a section for “Do You Like Me”} Ribbon {From Stash}
Fiber:Maraschino Twine {The Twinery}
Cricut Cartridge: Twinkle Toes {Little Girl, Dress, Valentine Heart}
Misc: Spica Pens, Copics {for the mouth} Micron Pen, Medium White Gelly Roll Pen, Border Punch {Martha Stewart}, Corner Rounder {1/2″}
I cut my lil’ Valentine girl out from Twinkle Toes at 3.5″ and cut the dress out at 3.75″ since it wasn’t the one that fit this particular little “dancer”. Then, I trimmed the top of the dress a little bit to make it fit, but I think it turned out ok! I cut this cutie straight from my Cricut – no Gypsy or Design Studio required to hide the face! Just cut the base layer (that you’d typically cut for the hair only) in your skin tone, and cut another base layer out in the hair color desired. In my case, I chose brown. You’ll snip the hair off the brown cut, and layer on top of your skin-toned layer. This way, you don’t need to do anything extra (besides trimming off the hair) to prepare your shape for some Peachifying!
I doodled a little on her dress with black stitches (Micron Pen) and hearts (Spica pen). The red layer on the card is done by using the “xoxo” border from the recently-released Valentine Sweets set from Peachy Keen Stamps. I stamped it with Versamark (fave!) to give it a tone-on-tone look. I hope you all enjoyed my card!
If you’d LOVE the chance to win an adorable Wide-Eyed face assortment, just leave a comment on this post {you don’t have to become a follower, but you’re always welcomed to!} and I’ll draw one random winner on Monday morning! That’s it! Good luck everyone!
